Desk brief
SBI Funds Management is set to open a major offer-for-sale IPO in India from July 14 to July 16, 2026, after setting a price band of ₹545–₹574 per share. The issue is expected to value the asset manager at roughly ₹1.17 trillion at the upper end of the range and is scheduled to list on July 21.
The offering follows a pre-IPO placement in which State Bank of India sold 28.8 million shares at ₹574 each to 30 investors, raising approximately ₹16.55 billion. The transaction reduced the public issue from its initially proposed size, while preserving the offer’s status as one of India’s largest equity deals of 2026.
The transaction is being closely watched as a gauge of institutional appetite for large Indian listings. SBI Funds Management is the investment manager of SBI Mutual Fund and reported quarterly average mutual-fund assets under management of approximately ₹12.51 trillion, equivalent to a 15.3% market share as of March 31, 2026. The IPO is entirely an offer for sale, meaning the proceeds will go to the selling shareholders rather than the company.
